Velux Conversion

Velux™ is the brand name for skylights, loft windows and roof windows. A velux conversion is one that uses roof light windows installed into the pitch of a roof to give light. This option is generally adequate for those contemplating the smaller loft conversion, ideally for a single bedroom or study.

	They will have the same structural floor, stair access and insulation as all other types, however, the loft conversion will be contained within the existing roof structure. This does not suit all properties as the actual standing room, or usable space of these conversions can be limited in all but the largest of roof voids.
Natural light is achieved by installing the Velux type roof window that follows the line of the existing roof. With this type of conversion, we make no external alteration to the roof line, therefore you do not normally require planning permission.
